The outbreak of COVID-19 has caused an estimated 900 million people around the world to remain at home. Among them are architectural designers and working remotely providing a quality service can be difficult, we will tell you how The Plan Centre aims to increase the quality of their Architectural Service.

Here at The Plan Centre we have been familiar with the remote working environment, where digital technology is essential to continue to  providing services to clients wishing to extend or renovate their homes.  Since we opened in 2001 we have embraced technology to work smarter to improve the quality of our services.  This enabled remote working from any location a possibility and to consistently produce a high level of planning application success.

So how do we provide our service during and after Covid-19 - all our projects start by obtaining and agreeing the project requirements.  This is undertaken by making use of the vast amount of information which is freely available - in particular the 3D satellite view offered by google, previous house sale particulars held by Rightmove which includes house plans, rooms sizes and also several photographs.  We also use the local authority database of application to help understand the planning history of the area.   Armed with this property information and any photographs and sketches provided by our clients, we are able to have a detailed project specific conversation.

Following our desk top study, we meet with our clients at their property, complying with all the official government guidelines on distancing / PPE and we make use of our laser measuring equipment to quickly take all measurements required.  This system allows for a detailed and informative briefing stage and a measured survey can be undertaken safely and quickly at your home.

We are then able to work remotely on your project using all the information we have safely gathered.  We proceed with the digital theme and a streamlined drawing process using the latest Computer Aided Design technology and 3D modelling techniques.

So what is the future - Covid-19 has brought some challenges and we have focused on delivering a safe quality service.  We never want to stand still at The Plan Centre, we are constantly looking at how we can improve our service.  As with all service providers, we had some down time and we have used this wisely and have invested further into our 3D modelling skills - our ambition is to make 3D modelling services freely available to our clients.  Instead of drawing separate plans, elevations and section drawings, we will input this drawing time directly into a software package which is also able to provide both 2D and 3D images and drawings.  All project undertaken by The Plan Centre can now benefit from this investment at no additional cost.

CONCLUSION
The future of architectural design for domestic projects has now changed - The future of Architectural Design at The Plan Centre is looking good.  We are able to bring complex visual services to all.  We will continue to act responsibly and safely and we welcome the opportunity to discuss your proposed house extension, loft conversion, garage conversion or internal structural alteration.

In addition to our 3D modelling skills expansion, The Plan Centre has also extended their standard area of coverage which now includes, Manchester, Warrington, Corley, Bolton, Rochdale, Blackburn, Preston, Chester, Maccelsfield, Knutsford, Crewe, Wrexham.  Generally speaking, Merseyside, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Wirral, North Wales.

PS - We have also worked nationally on previous projects and we are happy to discuss your requirements.  Our previous national work
